J. Gardner Cassatt Admitted to the Philadelphia Stock Exchange

Cassatt and Company stands out as one of the more impressive firms in the history of Philadelphia bankers.

On November 9th, 1872, it’s founder, J. Gardner Cassatt was admitted as a member of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange.

Among his many contributions is the Cassatt Mansion.  He is also the brother of the painter, Mary Cassatt, and Alexander Cassatt, president of the Pennsylvania Railroad.
