Veterans Stadium, located at the northeast corner of Broad Street and Pattison Avenue, was dedicated today, the 4th, in 1971. The listed seating capacities were 65,358 seats for football, and 56,371 for baseball.
It hosted the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL) andthe Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball (MLB). The 1976 and 1996 Major League Baseball All-Star Games were held at the venue. The Vet also hosted the annual Army-Navy football game seventeen times, between 1980 and 2001.
A parking lot now sits on its former site.
