Philadelphia Orthopaedic Hospital Opens For Business

The Philadelphia Orthopaedic Hospital and Infirmary for Nervous Diseases, on 17th and Summer Streets formally opened on this day, the 17th of February, 1872.  This institution was responsible for the development of neurology in 19th century America.
